Below is a menu of presentations offered through 菠菜网lol正规平台 Cares with different duration, focus areas, and levels of interactivity. Some involve live survey of the audience using participants’ smart phones at the beginning of the presentation.

(May include introduction to our web pages as a means for connecting students in need with a case manager, time permitting.)

(May include introduction to our web pages as a means for connecting students in need with a case manager, and discussion on strategies for identifying and connecting with students who may be experiencing food and/or housing insecurity, time permitting.)

- CalFresh is a federal nutrition program that helps low-income families and individuals by providing monthly funds for groceries. This presentation will inform students and staff about eligibility, how to apply, benefits, and more.
- Supporting Students in Distress (60 minutes)
- This presentation had an audience of student staff members. It includes an in-depth view of 菠菜网lol正规平台 Cares services, as well as BIT, distress, and threat. It was created for a Zoom format.

Supporting Students in Distress (Student Edition) (formerly “Red Folder Presentation”)

This is the BIT-focused presentation for student groups with high contact with peers (such as Residence Life and Peer Connections). It has been created to fit into a one hour presentation slot, but can be easily cut as needed. This is created for a Zoom audience in mind; participation may include Zoom polls or answering questions in chat.

Supporting Student in Distress (Faculty/Staff Edition) (60 minutes)
- This session will allow participants to better understand our 菠菜网lol正规平台 Red Folder resources
and Behavioral Intervention Team (BIT). We will discuss characteristics and examples
of distressed and disturbing behavior to look for, techniques to address at your level,
how to consult and document incidents so that we can collaborate as a campus to reduce
threats and better connect individuals to resources. This is created for a Zoom audience
in mind; participation may include Zoom polls or answering questions in chat.

Beyond Classroom Management: Knowing When to Assist and Consult with Others (Faculty)
- Faculty attending this session will work with campus case managers reviewing realistic scenarios involving students in distress in the classroom. Building upon knowledge of campus resources, faculty will practice how & when to reach out for assistance. Come work through practice scenarios, ask questions, and refine your skills on assisting students who may be experiencing moments of distress. Originally developed and presented in coordination with Center for Faculty Development.
